Number four - cookies for everyone

My flatmates seemed to be pretty happy over yesterday's cards, and have been even more friendly today. I guess the cheer me up-factor on that one continues for a while.

Today's mission was perfect for today's activity: a lawn bowling competition. A sport I hadn't heard of until yesterday afternoon. It is like ptonk/boule, you roll a "ball" and try to get closest to a little white ball. Except to make it harder, the rolling ball is heavier on one side so that you sort of never know where it's gonna end up.

The mission:

4. Share the Cookie Wuv

You are going to a gig at the local metal bar. Bake a batch of cookies and bring them along to share. You have now made 50 new friends.

Well, I know of no local metal bar. And even if I did, on a Sunday like this, I'd rather play lawn bowling.

I went for coconut tops, because they are both super easy and really yummy.

I forgot to take pictures of them, so here is one of the making itself.

Sharing cookies with people waiting for the event to start. They look skeptic here, but that's just before they tried them.

After this rival team started their warm up exercises I almost regretted giving them cookies. Damn professionals!

Despite all of my team members being rookies, we made it to the last seven out of thirty. And who know, maybe it was partly thanks to the cookies.

An interesting thing was that a surprising amount of people asked if they were spiked. I can't imagine that anyone would suspect that in, for example, Sweden.

Cheer me up-factor: 7 out of 10. People got happy, but since this was such an awesomely organized event with epic food, lots of beer and prices (for just ten bucks), they didn't seem to get very surprised. The smell when baking them was very uplifting though.
