No 10 - straying from the list and going Asian

This is today's mission:

10. The Royal Bedchamber
Make a canopy and coronet for your bed. Go to the fabric store and choose luxurious fabrics – chintz and brocade and lace and satin – in your favorite colours. Gather them on the ceiling and tie them to the corners of your bed. You can attach curtain rods to the ceiling to create a dramatic canopy. If you have any leftover fabric, make a few simple pillows to match. You are now a princess.

But dear readers. I'm not feeling it here. I never really had a soft spot for canopys and coronets. The one that keeps the flies out in Tokomaru Bay will have to do for now. Too much money and hassle for something that probably won't be that fun.

Instead, I headed to one of all the amazing Asian stores in Wellington. Nowhere else can you buy pickled and dried everything, jelly aloe vera drinks and twenty brands of soy sauce.

I came home with: A packets of fibrous biscuits (haven't tried, but it seemed like a healthy snack), an almond drink (tastes EXACTLY like a fluid version of the Swedish pastry semla, cardamom and all, yum!), a bag of fried broad beans (tastes like crisps, but only has 7% fat) and a bag of feijoas from the local dairy.

But what really did my experience was the shopping soundtrack they played in the store:

What a song.

Cheer-me-up factor: 5 out of 10. I got really excited in the store, and the song made it even better. But after all, it's just food shopping with a twist.
