Oh my.

Well, the weather report I wrote earlier today in certainly not valid anymore.

We have just had a tornado. My first tornado. This is what weather service metservice said:













Can you see the wind? 133 km/h. (This is before they updated the wind to GALE and "Feels like 2°C.)

This sort of cancels anniversary dinners, social events or getting out to check the mailbox.

The locals though, are pretty relaxed:

"We had a bit of a tornado", says Samuel Marsden Collegiate School business director Nev Gajadhar. The roof of the school was blown off.

Ward resident Dennis Burkhart said gusts had reached up to 100 km/h on his property, along with hail falling.

''It's pretty windy'', is his comment. (Dominion Post)

I guess I'll get used to it as well, someday.
