FOMO

As I have said before, kiwis are incredibly adventurous and open to new things. The reason might be the natural playground that New Zealand's grounds offer, the fact that nothing is poisonous, or possibly something in their genes.

I think I have found another reason. It is spelled FOMO and means Fear Of Missing Out.

New Zealand is already on a significant distance from most activities on earth. They don't want to miss out more than they already are. If there is a possibility of something cool happening, they will all show up. If there is nothing cool happening, they make it happen.

STA travel even had a campaign using the abbreviation. Still unclear to me though, whether it in the campaign is referring to missing out on cool stuff back home when you are traveling, or missing out on cool stuff abroad if you're not traveling.

However, I salute the kiwi FOMO psyche, or whatever it might be that causes New Zealanders to be such a cool and exciting people.

Long live the FOMO.
