Brr.

Sweden is so top modern, well organized and sturdily built it is ridiculous. I know, we love to complain about how the snow and the autumn leaves shuts down the subway. But seriously.

This morning, people could hardly walk to work. It was simply too windy. In the winter storms, ropes have to be put up for people on the pavements.

We all know New Zealand is a modern, developed country.

Still, this is a country where:

* It is a complete rarity and luxury with a heated, or, wait for this - insulated house. Students, young people and about everyone that's not filthy rich spends the winter wrapped in jackets and blankets - inside.

* Almost all the houses are equipped with gas stoves and gas heated water. In some places in the middle of town, there are constants gas leaks and it always smells a bit funky when passing.

I picture Wellington as the Pacific version of Berlin. It is pretty cool, abandoned buildings, roughness and all.

Everything, except the lack of insulation.
