The invisible blue cods and the bloody knuckles.

My knuckles are bloody. I have not been in a fight.

I have gotten 37 kids into their wetsuits. After trying three on myself, realizing they're too tight only after they're on. The skin on my knuckles peeled off.

Bloody fun, though.

We snorkeled in Island Bay, counting fish and paua shells. One boy got to count blue cod. He was the toughest boy in the class, had an ear pierced and all that. He was scared of leaving the shallow water so I stayed with him there. He found five blue cods. Impressive, considering that I didn't see a single one and no one else either.

Oh the life of a ten year old. Where you can make up stuff and people don't confront you. Where you get openly laughed at by your friends. Where the fact whether there are hot chips waiting for you when you get up decides the mood of your day.

Fun day. It even hurts writing this. But it was a fun day.

(Once again I brought my camera and forgot about it.)
